What began as an unexpected encounter with Sri Lanka’s nomadic community became nearly three months of shared life, laughter, conversations, and unforgettable memories.

For generations, these communities have travelled across the island, carrying their traditions, knowledge, languages, and ways of life. Their histories reflect movement, adaptation, and cultural identity.

They welcomed me not as a photographer, but as one of their own. We shared our joys and sorrows, listened to elders' stories, played with children, and found happiness in simple moments. Somewhere along the way, strangers became brothers and sisters.

More than a photographic record of a culture, this is a personal journey of friendship, kindness, and belonging, a story of people who welcomed me into their lives and became part of my family.
